Hi guys, Josh Bowmar here from Bowmar Bowhunting!

I am off to Alaska to bow hunt brown bears. This hunt is a dream come true. Today, I am going to be sharing my complete arrow build. The arrow that I am hunting these bears with is crazy heavy and really fast.

This hunt is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, so I spent a lot of time preparing for this hunt and a lot of time picking my equipment.

I am excited to break down this crazy arrow build.

The arrow that I am shooting is an X Impact 4mm. Micro-Diameter 200 spine. This arrow is super stiff because I am shooting a 90 POUND PSE. I did a whole video breaking down my bow build on the Bowmar Bowhunting YouTube channel linked here.

At the tip, I am using an Ethics Archery Insert/Outsert Combination. That is a steel outsert with an aluminum insert. This setup is super reinforced, meaning it cannot break at the tip. The total insert weight is 105 grains.

For my broadhead, I am using a 100 grain Levi Morgan Signature Series broadhead, called “The Swacker”. I like this broadhead a lot, especially for this brown bear hunt because they swoop the blades back. With this design, the broadhead will open past the ribs, which will get fresh blades on the organs. I feel really confident with this broadhead.

On the back of the arrow, I’m shooting a 2.75 Tac Driver Vein. I’m doing a 4-fletch with a helical, but not a strong helical. I also have a lighted nock on the back.

The total arrow weight is 571 grains. This arrow is a heavy hammer! The total FOC is about 14%, which is pretty good for this combination. With my 90 pound bow, and 31 inch draw, this arrow shoots 304 feet per second. We are talking insane arrow speeds.

I did a full review on my Bowmar Bowhunting Channel. Hopefully I can get it done out in Alaska.
